Frequently asked questions

How does the app work?
Music Ear Trainer plays short musical examples and asks you to identify what you hear — starting with major versus minor — across progressive levels. The Sound Lab lets you compare chords side by side, and the Practice mode tracks your streak and XP as you improve.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts and no sign-in. Your progress is stored privately on your own device.
Where is my progress saved? Can I move it to another device?
Progress lives only on the device you use — in your browser on the web, and in on-device storage in the mobile app. It is not synced across devices, so clearing your browser storage or reinstalling the app resets it.
There's no sound. What should I check?
Make sure your device is not on silent or muted, turn the volume up, and tap the play button once to let the browser or app start audio (some browsers require a tap before they will play sound).
How do you handle my data?
Minimally: no ads, no accounts, no tracking. The only data that leaves your device is anonymous crash diagnostics used to fix bugs. See the privacy policy for the full details.
I found a bug or have a feature idea.
Please email it in — bug reports and suggestions are genuinely welcome and help shape the app.
